‘Takes A Village’ is a collaborative of local services, supporting the wellbeing of new parents.

We open every Monday to Wednesday from 10am - 3pm, at Aneto Cafe, next to Goose Green park (between East Dulwich and Peckham). We bring together the high quality local services that new parents need, in an accessible and welcoming space. Come to see us and find:

  • Easy to access expertise, exactly where and when you need it.

  • Evidence-based information to help you make decisions - and nothing but support once you've made them.

  • A warm and friendly place to just be, in good company, with your babies. Where you can feed and change and care for them, in a supportive non-judgmental environment.

  • Somewhere to build your own network of like-minded friends in this new phase of your life from newborn through to the toddler years.

Toys

Hand delivered by Ceci, founder of Toy Box Tots, toy rental company.

Available all day, every Monday.

When you arrive, you can expect a warm, bustling Italian cafe with freshly ground coffee, delicious cakes, pastas and salads on offer all day. Damiano and his team have a wonderful, welcoming attitude to little people and the (inevitable) chaos they bring, so that you can enjoy your time with them without worrying.

You’ll find the Takes a Village through in the workshop space on the right as you come through the cafe with Rachel, Katharine or Luci on hand if you need any help finding your session, or just a friendly face to chat to! You can wheel your buggy all the way into the function room, particularly if your baby is asleep in it. Otherwise you may prefer to leave your buggy outside the cafe, if it’s empty.

What else can you expect?

  • A relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere, where you are welcome to spend as much time as you like, to feed, change and comfort your baby; eat and drink, work or catch up on some life-min whilst your little one plays, or strike up conversation with other parents.

  • In the main space, we set up a playpen with mats for your little one to play safely in, a Sleepyhead and a bouncer for the littlest ones to hang out on.

  • We have a changing selection of gorgeous toys from local toy box hire company, Toy Box Tots.

  • Baby changing facilities (and spare wipes, nappies & essential mum toiletries like dry shampoo and breast pads!).

  • Feeding cushions available for use.

  • Comfy baby bouncers (in the workshop space, and even one in the loo!).
