Takes A Village is a collaborative of local services, supporting the wellbeing of new parents.

We open as a physical pop-up hub every Monday from 10am - 4pm, at The Lordship, bringing together the high quality local services that new parents need, in an accessible and welcoming space. Come to see us and find:

  • Easy to access expertise, exactly where and when you need it.

  • Evidence-based information to help you make decisions - and nothing but support once you've made them.

  • A warm and friendly place to just be, in good company, with your babies. Where you can feed and change and care for them, in a supportive non-judgmental environment.

  • Somewhere to build your own network of like-minded friends in this new phase of your life.

We also offer a permanent online hub, signposting parents to the services each of us offer throughout the remainder of the week, so that you can access the help that you need, when you need it.

Each of us involved in Takes A Village has our own unique and evolving style of parenting . What we share is the belief that there is no one 'right' way to do this parenting thing, but that by getting the best quality, evidence-based information, practical skills and confidence, every family can make the right decisions for them.

We believe that families are teams that work best together by valuing every member. We believe that parents are powerful and are even more so in numbers. We believe in knowing our neighbours and being there for each other. We believe in the value every generation has to offer. We believe that even the most sleep-deprived, maddening or boring days can be made miraculously better with tea and empathy.

No Judgment.

Buggies or slings? Boob or bottle? Baby led or puree? Dummies or not? Working at the office or at home?  Your call. We understand that decisions aren't always black and white, and we believe in building your confidence, not judging your choices.

If you are with us one Monday, and you or your baby are having a rough day, we are there for you and with you.

You're the parent here, and you and your baby are doing great.

Our team of local professionals, as well local parents ourselves, are here to help, advise and support you on your parenting journey. Whilst we each run our services as small, local businesses, the organisation and setup of Takes A Village, as well as many of our free talks and events are run on a voluntary basis.
